Cyber volunteers are actively defending the country in cyberspace, Vladimir Putin said during the “Everything for Victory!” forum, TASS reports on July 6.

Vladimir Putin said that more than 60,000 highly skilled and experienced IT specialists have already joined the national cyber units.

These are programmers and IT specialists who are now also on the front lines — fighting for the country, for the truth, defending our values and interests on the digital battlefield,” he said. According to the head of State, members of cyber militias are engaged in identifying destructive content, exposing false information, and preventing information provocations aimed at undermining civil harmony in Russia.

The president noted the importance of their activities, calling the work of cyber teams “a priority area.” According to him, it is exactly such initiatives that help strengthen social unity and protect national interests in the face of digital threats.

Putin emphasized the contribution of the creative intelligentsia to patriotic education. Famous musicians, actors, and singers create new pieces of art dedicated to love for the Motherland and the feats of heroes, and give performances for military personnel. He particularly noted the emotional support provided to soldiers: “The hearts of soldiers are warmed by heartfelt letters from children from all regions of Russia. And here, of course, we must thank school teachers. This is their merit.”

It should be noted that the “Everything for Victory!” forum brought together representatives of various social movements, volunteers, and civil activists involved in supporting participants in special military operations, humanitarian missions, and information countermeasures. During the event, plans were announced to expand citizen participation in the protection of Russia’s digital space.
