The future for Russia lies in developing the Arctic, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on June 28, according to RIA Novosti.
During the opening of youth centers in Russian regions, the head of state emphasized that the country’s future is largely linked to the development of the Arctic. According to him, “it is now obvious that Russia’s future, including, and perhaps even more so, lies in the Arctic, in the development of the Arctic, which we are actively beginning to explore.”
The event is timed to coincide with Russian Youth Day, which is celebrated on the last Saturday in June, as established by the head of state’s decree of May 2, 2023. In 2025, the holiday falls on June 28.
