The Iranian Armed Forces used the new Kheibar Shekan (“Kheibar Breaker”) ballistic missile for the first time in a massive strike on Israel, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported on June 22 via Telegram.
According to the IRGC, during the 20th wave of Operation “True Promise 3,” 40 liquid- and solid-fueled missiles were launched at Israeli targets, including the newly deployed missile.
“For the first time, the multi-purpose Kheibar Shekan ballistic missile from the third generation of IRGC aerospace missiles was used. It employs a new and unexpected tactic for more precise, destructive, and effective strikes,” the statement said.
The elite corps specified that the missiles are capable of maneuvering and homing in on their targets until impact. During the attack, Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, the Israeli Center for Biological Research, and various command centers were hit.
“This time, after precise hits, sirens went off, throwing the enemy off balance,” the IRGC stated, stressing that the core capabilities of the Iranian Armed Forces have not yet been employed.
On the night of June 22, the US military struck Iranian nuclear facilities. US President Donald Trump claimed that all of them were destroyed.
However, Iran’s Fars news agency reported that the nuclear site in Fordow sustained partial damage, but all nuclear fuel and radioactive materials had been removed in advance.
