Iranian citizens are grateful to Russian President Vladimir Putin for his efforts to de-escalate the situation in the Middle East, stated Abbas Mirzaei Ghazi Moslem, representative of the Russian-Iranian Center for Legal and Economic Cooperation, on June 21 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), TASS informed.
He noted that the Russian side promptly responded to Israel’s attacks on Iran.
“Unlike other world powers, I believe Russia, almost immediately when it started, condemned the actions, a phone call was made, and a 50-minute conversation with the President of the United States [Donald Trump] was held,” said Moslem.
The representative also highlighted the timely response from Russia’s Foreign Ministry. He called Russia a true ally and partner that does not abandon its friends in difficult times.
President Putin condemned Israel’s attack on Iran and expressed Russia’s readiness to act as a mediator in negotiations between the conflicting parties.
