Israeli forces were unable to detect a new missile launched by Iran before it hit its target, Iran’s Ministry of Defense stated on June 17, according to the Tasnim news agency.
“During today’s attack by the armed forces on the Zionist regime [referring to Israel — Rossa Primavera News Agency], a new missile was used which, according to the Zionists, they did not detect at all before it struck,” the defense ministry’s statement read.
Earlier reports indicated that Iran had attacked Tel Aviv, Haifa, and other Israeli military sites using “advanced weaponry” and hundreds of strike drones. This was described as a new wave of attacks on Israel, more extensive and destructive than previous ones.
Israel launched Operation “Rising Lion” during the night of June 13, targeting Iran’s nuclear program. Less than a day later, the Islamic Republic carried out a retaliatory strike. In the days that followed, Israel and Iran exchanged further strikes. Both sides reported casualties and damage to various facilities within their territories, though they claimed the damage was limited.
