Documents acquired by Iranian intelligence in Israel will strengthen Iran’s offensive capabilities

Iran may enhance its military-offensive capabilities thanks to nuclear-related documents acquired by Iranian intelligence in Israel, Iran’s Minister of Intelligence Esmail Khatib said on June 8, according to Iranian state agency SNN.

“Complete documents related to the nuclear field were obtained and transferred [to Iran],” stated the minister. He emphasized that Iran also obtained documents related to the United States, Europe, and other countries.

Khatib noted that some of the documents will specifically strengthen Iran’s offensive capabilities. He explained that operatives from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had acquired “an entire treasure trove of intelligence data.”

The minister said the collection contains thousands of documents, including both scientific and military-strategic files related to the nuclear field. He added that Tehran has decided to release some of these documents to the media and emphasized that this will happen soon.

The US and Iran have held several rounds of talks about a new nuclear agreement. However, top Iranian officials have expressed doubt that any deal with Washington will be signed.
