Kurginyan explains how Russia and China can shape the 21st century

Russian-Chinese relations will define the agenda of the 21st century, but Russia must be strong in order to accomplish this, philosopher, political scientist, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on May 16 on the Conversation with a Sage program on the Zvezda radio channel.

“I think that Russian-Chinese relations in all their depth will significantly determine the 21st century and our destiny,” Sergey Kurginyan said.

He recalled one important meeting with an elderly who held a high position in China. During their conversation, they talked about Stalin and the Chinese speaker highlighted one problem that the Soviet leader could not solve, but China did.

“Yes. Stalin… Stalin solved all the problems except one – he did not ensure the continuity of power. And in our country, political power will be continuous,” Kurginyan quoted his interlocutor as saying.

This high-ranking Chinese official said that several great successors were already in power and this process would successfully continue, the expert said. According to the Chinese official, the Chinese people may not know who the country’s next leader will be, but they do know that “he will be great and that he will be a successor.

“Then his slightly pale eyes of an older man sparked up with a certain blue light, which, as many know, happens, sometimes, to actors when they reach a state of a great creative trance. And he says to me, For such is the will of the Celestial Empire,” Kurginyan said.

The political scientist pointed out to his Chinese speaker that if five people succeed each other, then there must be a sixth person at the heart of this process who appoints them one after another. “And he replied: Well, you have well-developed logical thinking,” the analyst added.

“I said: Name! That’s the main thing – the name. Here I am. We’re going to have an escalation in Russia very soon. I want to understand who I can talk to. Name!’” Kurginyan said.

In response, the interlocutor listed several names from the Russian Supreme Council: Aksyuchits, Astafyev, Konstantinov, Baburin [these were peoples’ deputy in the Supreme Soviet of Russia elected in 1990 – translator’s note], and asked about the possible prospects of them coming to power.

“‘When they finally win, tell me, what do you think will happen: will they be at each other’s throats in a week time or in one month?’ He pauses and says: ‘Or, is there someone who will restrain them?'” the political scientist paraphrased it in his own words.

I said: ‘Are you asking me about the name?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ I said: ‘Well, I asked first,'” Kurginyan added.

According to the Chinese representative, they supported Yeltsin in the 1990s because they wanted stability and weakening of Russia, but they did not want destabilization on the border.

And then later we talked again. He said: Tell everyone that as long as you have stability there, thats it, were going south, we wont bother you. But if you have instability,he looks at me and says, we wont refrain. We wont let your instability turn into the US dominance, so that the entire border essentially becomes theirs. We will act in our interests and before anyone else does’,” Kurginyan emphasized.
