Russian soldiers virtually destroyed a battalion of Ukraine’s 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade, which is part of the country’s Air Assault Forces, TASS reported on May 29.
According to a source in defense agencies, “in Perestroyka, a FAB-500 bomb destroyed the location of the paratroopers — the 2nd Battalion of the 46th Brigade. More than 60 personnel were killed, plus wounded. Thus, the battalion has been practically destroyed.” It was also revealed that many Ukrainian units are only one-third staffed, meaning that losses quickly lead to a complete loss of combat effectiveness.
The strike on the Ukrainian position was carried out using a FAB-500 aerial bomb. Over 60 enemy fighters were killed.
Perestroyka village is located in the Velikaya Novoselka district, near the border with Dnepropetrovsk Region.
