Explosive devices found on railway in Russia’s Belgorod Region

26.05.2025, Belgorod.

Six improvised explosive devices planted on railway tracks in Russia’s Belgorod Region were discovered and defused, the Telegram channel Shot wrote on May 26.

The improvised explosive devices were installed 1.5 meters apart on the same tracks where a freight train had previously been blown up.

The governor of the border region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, stated that railway traffic resumed 2.5 hours after the train explosion.

“Trains are currently running according to schedule,” Gladkov noted.

Earlier on May 26, in the Novy Oskol District of Belgorod Region, a freight train carrying ore was hit by an explosion caused by a device planted under the tracks. The blast damaged the last wagon and the inter-car brake system connectors.

There were no injuries as a result of the incident. Authorities are considering opening a criminal case on charges of terrorism.
