Russian servicemen destroyed part of an elite Ukrainian UAV unit in the area near the border of the Donetsk People’s Republic and Dnepropetrovsk Region, TASS reported on May 22, citing a source in the Russian defense agency.
As a result of a strike by the Russian Air Force using two FAB aerial bombs, at least 10 Ukrainian servicemen from the elite 414th Separate Regiment of Strike Unmanned Aerial Systems of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were eliminated. This unit had been deployed to this section of the contact line to contain the advance of Russian troops.
“Yesterday in the village of Komar, a UAV command post of the 414th Regiment was destroyed by two FAB strikes. The elite was thrown in to restrain our forces,” the source in the defesne agancy stated.
The Russian army continues its offensive near the important industrial center of the DPR — Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk), which is occupied by the Ukrainian militants. Currently, the city is being encircled from the west and east.
