In order to hold out in the contemporary world of major trouble with a severe competition for the number one position, Russia must build up its power, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on May 16 on the program Conversation with a Sage on radio Zvezda.
Kurginyan reminded about Cuban revolutionary Fidel Castro who, according to the political scientist, opened “a new era of communism.”
“He (Castro – Rossa Primavera News Agency) said that there was the Liberation Theology in which communism and Christianity were one. If we had adopted this concept in 1960s, Khrushchev’s stupid persecution of the church would not have begun, which could hardly be explained,” the leader of Essence of Time said.
According to Kurginyan, if the USSR had adopted Castro’s concept, we would have been living in a great country today.
“Great not in the sense that it is not great now. Russia will always be great, otherwise it will cease to be. But in the sense that the entire pole of powers would have been kept, and out relations would have developed in a different way,” he indicated.
The political scientist noted that the stronger Russia becomes the stronger relations it will have with those involved in an extremely severe competition for global leadership. Now, he added, this kind of a competition is ongoing between China and the USA. Also, the political scientist asked what place Russia has in this process.
“Where are we? Of course, we are definitely not in America. We have no chances there, and no Trump’s gestures can make any difference. Of course, we should be happy if the Chinese (cooperate – Rossa Primavera News Agency) with us at least in the same moderate manner as they do now. This is already a great fortune, and we must do our best to improve these relations,” the leader of Essence of Time said.
However, he noted that this is not the end of the game, and Russia must understand this. And, according to him, being involved in this game means that Russia must build up its ability to be an actor as well as its power, and it must clearly understand that this is a world of confrontations.
We must “understand that only our power can save us from various really major troubles looming on the horizon. And that the trouble at the so-called western direction, which is called Special Military Operation, is very big, but something bigger is coming,” the political scientist explained.
Also, Sergey Kurginyan indicated that we need to revise our feeling that the world will be kind, united, smart, reasonable, and harmonic. He stressed that this will definitely not happen.
“And because it will definitely not happen, we must look at anyone we are building relations with through this ‘will not happen,’ through this global trouble, in which we can only hold out if we are powerful and smart,” he said.
