Approximately 50,000 to 60,000 citizens voluntarily join the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces each month, stated Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with participants of Delovaya Rossiya (Business Russia) forum.
“If the Kiev authorities are engaged in forced mobilization, rounding people up on the streets like stray dogs, well, our guys come voluntarily. They come on their own. They’re catching about 30,000 people over there, right? And we’re seeing 50,000 to 60,000 show up each month on their own,” said the leader of state.
On January 24, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev announced that around 450,000 people had signed contracts for military service in the Russian Armed Forces in 2024.
