12.05.2025, Doha.

Fifteen people were killed as a result of an Israeli strike on a school in the northern Gaza Strip, Al Jazeera wrote on May 12.

“An Israeli strike on a school turned into shelter in Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip early Monday morning killed 15 people, including women and children,” the statement reads.

According to the channel, on May 12, Israel resumed attacks on several areas in the cities of Gaza and Rafah. One neighborhood in Gaza City and the Al-Nuseirat refugee camp in the central part of the Strip were reportedly shelled by Israeli artillery.

According to the Ministry of Health, since Israel resumed its attacks on the Gaza Strip on March 18 — after Hamas rejected the US plan to extend the ceasefire and release hostages — more than 2,700 people have been killed in the enclave, and over 7,500 have been injured.

Following the end of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas on March 1, hostilities had not resumed due to ongoing mediation efforts aimed at achieving a full resolution of the situation in Gaza. However, Israel halted electricity supply to a desalination plant in the Strip and blocked entry of humanitarian aid vehicles.
