The visit of a DPRK delegation was accompanied by a personal communication with Russian President Vladimir Putin after the conclusion of the Victory Parade on Red Square, it was revealed during a live broadcast on May 9.
Russian President Vladimir Putin after the end of the solemn parade in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War personally thanked the commanders of parade formations that marched through Red Square. At the end of the official part, the head of state approached the delegation from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, which was on the tribunes in the first row as guests of honor.
During a brief conversation through an interpreter, the North Korean military congratulated the President on the holiday. In response, Putin expressed his gratitude and hugged one of the senior DPRK officers.
All Russia supports the participants of the special operation and is proud of them, Putin added.
Note, during his speech at the parade, the head of Russia emphasized the importance of Victory Day for Russia, calling it “holy and dear, the main holiday.” He also recalled the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War and expressed respect for the soldiers who fell for the freedom and independence of the Motherland.
The presence of foreign delegations, including high-ranking representatives of North Korea, emphasizes the international significance of the commemorative events held in Moscow.
