After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the members of the US Democratic Party decided to reject the ideas of humanism to “pledge allegiance to death,” the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on April 18 on the program Conversation with a Sage on radio Zvezda.
The political scientist stressed that “for a while, the US Democratic Party promoted certain humanistic ideals.” The peak of such sentiments took place during the presidency of Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
After that, the country “made a turn, as all the so-called bourgeois democratic countries did, to an absolutely different footing, the footing of post-Modernity,” the philosopher noted.
“In fact, this was a betrayal of the idea of humanism,” Kurginyan stressed.
The political scientist noted that when the idea of humanism is betrayed, another idea is raised instead. He listed the post-Modernist ideas that the Democratic Party adopted: the end of history, the end of humanism, and the end of the project of Man.
“All this was designed exactly to diminish Man, to discredit him both in terms of the concept itself and in terms of practice,” Sergey Kurginyan noted.
This was followed by “dehumanization along with glorification of any perversions,” thus initiating “degradation of the entire system that had always worked to raise Man,” the philosopher explained.
“Man can be easily pushed downwards, but it is difficult to pull him up. A whole system of institutions has been pulling him up throughout the history of humanity,” Sergey Kurginyan stressed.
An anti-humanistic project began to be promoted. “That was an overwhelming novelty, which was certainly associated to a large extent with the collapse of the USSR,” the political scientist said. He noted that then “something unthinkable happened in terms of the concentration of dark ideas, not just Satanism but something worse.”
“Worshiping death, the gods of death, enjoying any perversions including extreme pathologies, lifting all the taboos –the Democratic Party and its sponsors have been doing all this throughout the entire post-Soviet period,” the philosopher reminded.
“This induced a positive resonance inside the West,” Kurginyan noted.
The philosopher explained that this kind of a reaction had a deep foundation. As an analogy, he referred to Nazism, which “jumped out of some place in its apparently anti-Christian form.” He noted that he “is not perfectly sure that the West has ever been genuinely Christian.”
Kurginyan reminded that while “Hitler said ‘Gott mit uns,’ Himmler prayed to the black sun.” “And Hitler himself prayed no one knows to whom, including all those Tibetan and other kinds of things, which arose not just because an idea came to Hitler,” the political scientist stressed. “They have deeper roots, all those Thule societies etc. including the post-Hitler Nazism.”
“All this resulted in an infernal mix of dehumanization inside the Democratic Party,” Kurginyan concluded.
