Lavrov reports growing interest in Russia as a guardian of values

16.04.2025, Moscow.

Russia needs to work out clear conditions for relocation, as many people see our country as a guardian of traditional spiritual and moral values, said the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.

Lavrov said that all over the world the number of people who perceive Russia as a defender of traditional spiritual and moral values is growing. In this regard, he emphasized the need to create clear and convenient conditions for relocating to the country for citizens of those states where destructive attitudes are imposed .

I would like to note with satisfaction that more and more people in the world not just sympathize with our country, they want to know more about how we live, but also look at Russia precisely as a guardian-defender of traditional values,” the minister said at the meeting.

According to the minister, such sentiments are particularly evident in Western countries. He noted that to support such people, Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree providing for humanitarian aid to people who share traditional Russian values. The document came into force on August 19, 2024.

He added that the main goal of the new initiative is to provide transparent and understandable conditions for migration and adaptation of citizens from states where “unnatural behavioral patterns are aggressively imposed.” The Russian Foreign Ministry is already cooperating on the implementation of the decree with the Interior Ministry and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.

Of course, we will work together with our colleagues from the Interior Ministry in real time to resolve issues that arise in a usual way,” Lavrov emphasized.
