Europe wants to preserve the Nazi regime on at least part of Ukrainian territory, stated Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on April 14 in an interview with the newspaper Kommersant.
According to Lavrov, Europe is seeking “a brand-new semi-Führer.” He noted that all the peacekeeping proposals made by European leaders are based on the idea “of preserving at least a small part of land where a Nazi, overtly Russophobic regime remains — one geared toward preparing yet another war against Russia, just as was done through the Minsk Agreements.”
Lavrov emphasized that although the United States has now declared that elections in Ukraine must be held, Europe will do everything possible to ensure that the regime essentially remains unchanged.
On March 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation with Donald Trump, during which he supported a US proposal for a mutual 30-day moratorium on strikes against energy infrastructure. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky also expressed willingness to support the initiative. However, the very next day, Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported a new attack by the Ukrainian militants on an oil depot in Kuban Region.
According to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, Russia continues to refrain from striking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, despite violations by Kiev.
