Kurginyan: The Syrian bell tolls to Russia, too

04.04.2025, Moscow.

The Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham terrorist group (organization banned in Russia) that seized Syria will not stop at these territories, but it will strengthen and go on to the north, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on March 21 on the program Conversation with a Sage on radio Zvezda.

“Looking at this Syrian bell, we must see what is taking place there,” the philosopher noted.

Kurginyan stressed that the leader of HTS (organization banned in Russia), al-Jolani, who has become the Syrian leader, is only a puppet controlled by the West, and the militants are his guards.

“Speculations about democracy for Syria are for complete idiots and provocateurs. He will never step aside from his guards, and they have their supervisors,” the political scientist added.

According to him, Syria is now controlled by “super-highly qualified, perfectly equipped and trained, ideologically fierce groups transformed into a super-al- Qaeda (organization banned in Russia), which have been granted the territory of the state.”

Sergey Kurginyan noted that the militants themselves are far from a feeling that they should stop in Syria.

“The more you have, the more you want. They have seized small territories in the parts of Syria adjacent to Turkey, they have seized Aleppo, and now they will consolidate themselves and commit robberies there to conquer certain territories given to them for looting, which will further strengthen them,” the leader of the Essence of Time movement told.

Russia should understand that the number of crisis areas that Islamists will be taking under control will grow: part of China, Central Asia, Afghanistan, and, finally, territories of our country are also targets of radical Islamism, the political scientist noted.

“And all this system is watching: first of all, the Uigurs are watching China, this is what they are cultivated for as a super-contingent. Further, it is, of course, Uzbekistan etc. There is already something consonant in Afghanistan. And then it breaks through the Orenburg corridor and comes here. Why not? There is every reason for it,” Sergey Kurginyan concluded.
