Kurginyan: Israel’s Syria policy is absolutely stupid

04.04.2025, Moscow.

The Israeli authorities’ Syria policy is absolutely wrong, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on March 21 on the program Conversation with a Sage on radio Zvezda.

“One could not imagine greater idiocy than what the Israeli are doing, who are seemingly quite intelligent people, including their leader named Netanyahu that I know, who is making some moves in an unclear direction,” the analyst said.

According to Sergey Kurginyan, previously, under Bashar al-Assad, only flies could be seen at the Golan Heights, because he kept security from the Syrian side as much as he could. Now, the political scientist notes, Israel has got a radically Sunni Syria at the Golan Heights.

“And the officials, including those who are trying to sort things out, I mean the officials of the Turkish state, directly say that their concept is generally neo-Ottoman, i.e. that Jerusalem used to be a Turkish city, and all people lived well. And the massacre of 2025 strongly resembles what happened to the Armenians, the Kurds, etc. in the beginning of the 20th century. This is just a remake,” the political scientist said.

Also, according to the analyst, the current processes in Syria will move to the south removing everything on their way.

“The Israeli turn to the Druses and then to someone else. They have one, I apologize, idiotic limitation: as soon as they smell Iran, they go mad. For some reason they believe that if their throat is cut with a Turkish yataghan it would be a more attractive and Zionist version of killing the Jewish people in the state of Israel than if the Persians do that,” Sergey Kurginyan said.

The political scientist stressed that this is an absolutely irrational stereotype, which nevertheless can disable the rational thinking among Israeli officials, including well-educated ones.

Currently, Israel is trying to move its border because of the Syrian events, but it should rather seek to have an appropriate Syria, Sergey Kurginyan said.
