Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on March 28 that there are grounds to believe that the Russian Armed Forces will ultimately defeat the Ukrainian militants, as reported by TASS.
“Not long ago, I said we would grind them down. But there is reason to believe we will finish them off,” the Russian leader elaborated.
Putin further noted that Russia has currently managed to establish strategic initiative across the entire frontline. The president recalled that the Russian Armed Forces have already liberated 99% of the territory of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR).
The Russian army has also succeeded in freeing over 70% of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), while territories in Zaporozhye and Kherson Regions continue to be liberated.
Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Putin maintains daily communication with servicemen participating in the special military operation on the frontlines.
