The new US administration wants to accomplish a transition into a new technological era while keeping silent about Man, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on February 6 in an interview to channel ONT.
The political scientist commented the ambitious artificial intelligence project of the new US administration, in which it plans to invest $500 billion, and to which Chinese company DeepSeek is already preparing a response.
“Of course, this is a transition into a new civilizational phase,” the philosopher noted.
Sergey Kurginyan explained that Man as species Homo sapiens could move in any direction, he was everywhere.
“And then a practical line was drawn, dividing Man on one side and a post-human on the other. And all the opportunities arose, conditional ones for now: genetic, digital, etc.,” the philosopher told.
He called this new zone of existence pre-apocalyptic. This red line is the only one, and it has been drawn.
To illustrate this line, Sergey Kurginyan quoted verses from Brothers Strugatsky’s novel Beetle in the Anthill:
Beasts stood by the door,
They were shot, and they died.
“This is the red line humanity is standing by, and there is a post-human beyond it. And inside this technologically feasible system the question is who holds the technologies,” the political scientist stressed.
The technology itself is neither good nor bad, Sergey Kurginyan added. It is important who controls it.
“In this sense, everything that is taking place is the beginning of a fantastically new era, which is unprecedented since the late Paleolithic age. This is not about the model of living, it is not about a revolution, it is about evolution. This is a bottleneck through which we will need to pass in order to either renovate this species or replace it with something else. This is what everyone is thinking about,” the philosopher noted.
Besides, he indicated that “this discussion of the future always leaves out Man as if he has been doomed.”
Sergey Kurginyan reminded the question raised by Russian poet Aleksandr Blok in his poem “Retribution”:
But what of Man? In roaring steel
In fire, in black gunpowder smoke
What kind of fiery expanses
Have manifested to your eyes?
Machines – what do they say in rumbling?
Why do propellers scream and cut through
The dark, the cold, the empty fog?
“Now this silence about Man means that a decision has been made. And it has been made in the style of the disciples of Wernher von Braun, for whom Wernher von Braun is an iconic figure not from the past, but from the future. And it is not about humanity reaching Mars, but about what kind of domination can be hidden under this guise,” the leader of the Essence of Time movement concluded.
