The West looks at the allied activities of the Russian Federation and Belarus as at a “rebellious slave,” because it believes that it won the cold war, the leader of the Essence of Time social movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on February 6 in an interview to channel ONT.
This is how Kurginyan commented host Dmitry Bocharov’s remark about the reaction of the Western countries to the presidential elections in Belarus that took place in January 2025; the ONT journalist noted that “the West made a record” when it announced its verdict in these elections “long before we, the Belarusians, came to vote.” But most importantly, the West “clearly defines the alliance of Belarus and Russia as the next target,” the host noted.
Sergey Kurginyan, commenting this remark, noted that the West “revels greatly in the collapse of the Soviet Union.”
“Because they believe that they defeated (us) in the cold war. And it is painful for me that very smart people, leaders of states by the way, leaders [who are] responsible for people’s destinies, lack this feeling in a sense. [The West] treats the Belarusians, the Russians, and anybody else as prisoners in a concentration camp.”
“The slave has revolted. He makes some Oreshnik strikes, right? He deploys nuclear weapons? But they [in the West] cannot give up the idea that those they are talking to are rebellious slaves. A slave can be good, or peaceful, or rebellious, be he is always a slave. He lost the cold war, so he must know that his place is next to the slop bucket.”
Sergey Kurginyan stressed that “the Anglo-Saxon, when he is the winner, is infinitely arrogant.” And the West’s goal is not only to enjoy a pragmatic benefit from its victory. “Its goal is to rob, i.e. to do something pragmatically, but another goal is to revel. To revel in it. So to say, to pick the flowers of this delight,” the analyst says.
He added that the West, having defeated the USSR in the cold war, did not intend to transform the “defeated enemy” into a party to the global political game that would be equal to itself.
“They were very scared of the Soviet Union, communism, the global socialist system, some [countries] that had not took any side. They were very scared, but then, as they [in the West] believe, they defeated it. It was said that we dismantled it [the USSR] ourselves because it [communism] was incompatible with development. But China is number one country on the globe! So, is it compatible with development or not? Many things were said that we would integrate and become like them [in the West]. [But] no one would want to make somebody else’s slave equal to himself,” Sergey Kurginyan said.
The presidential elections in Belarus took place on January 26, 2025. The current leader, Aleksandr Lukashenko, won. On January 22, the European Parliament adopted a resolution calling to ignore the outcome of the elections in Belarus in spite of the fact that the elections had not taken place yet.
