Mass brawls break out during protests in Belgrade

15.03.2025, Belgrade.

Serbian police intervened to stop brawls and fights during protest actions, the country’s Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on March 15.

A series of brawls occurred during mass protests in Belgrade, with police working at the scene. Over 107,000 people took to the streets to express their dissatisfaction following the collapse of a concrete canopy at the train station in Novi Sad, which killed 15 people.

“In several locations in central Belgrade, brawls and fights broke out among some participants of today’s protest, who repeatedly attacked police officers, attempting to obstruct them from performing their duties and incite disorder,” the police stated.

The protests were primarily attended by students and members of opposition parties.
