Russian Presidential Press Secretary indicates what will happen if Kiev is disconnected from Starlink

11.03.2025, Moscow.

If Ukraine’s Starlink satellite communication system is disconnected, the country will switch to some other alternative communication system, stated Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov on March 11 during a briefing.

“Even if Elon Musk turns off his equipment, Ukraine will immediately activate something else. In this world, there are no empty niches,” Peskov noted.

Starlink is owned by American billionaire Elon Musk. Since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, the Ukrainian armed units have actively used the satellite internet provided by this system.

On March 9, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski reminded that Poland pays for Starlink for Ukraine, costing approximately $50 million per year. Sikorski promised that if Starlink disconnects terminals in Ukraine, Warsaw will seek an alternative.
