Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov denies connection between Russia’s strike on Ukraine’s military-industrial complex and the Macron plan

07.03.2025, Moscow.

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied any connection between Russia’s strike on energy facilities that feed Ukraine’s military-industrial complex and France’s initiative on a temporary cease-fire in the Ukrainian conflict zone in response to a question from journalists on March 7.

Peskov was asked whether French President Emmanuel Macron’s proposal, which includes a temporary cease-fire and a halt to attacks on infrastructure, is linked to the strikes by Russian troops last night on facilities supplying energy to Ukrainian military-industrial enterprises. A presidential spokesman responded negatively.

No, we do not agree with this point of view,” Peskov replied.

He explained that there is a continuation of the special operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine. According to Peskov, as part of the special operation, Russian servicemen are striking facilities related to the production of weapons in Ukraine.
