Effective electronic warfare system against enemy drones developed in Crimea

03.02.2025, Simferopol.

Tests of the newly developed “SuperREB” electronic warfare (EW) system in Crimea have been successfully completed, SMI2 wrote on March 3.

The SuperREB project was developed by the company Russkiy Kupol under the directive of Crimean leader Sergey Aksyonov.

One of the system’s creators, known by the call sign Dotzent, stated that at the beginning of the special military operation, Russia lacked adequate counter-drone systems. According to him, SuperREB is designed as a cutting-edge solution to defend against enemy drones and to counter adversary attempts to bypass Russian EW systems.

Dotzent emphasized that Russkiy Kupol’s staff had been present in the combat zone since the start of the special military operation, which gave them a deep understanding of the existing threats posed by enemy drones. This firsthand experience motivated them to develop EW devices specifically for countering UAVs.

During tests, the system successfully neutralized enemy drones without causing damage, allowing engineers to study their technical features.

The project involved over 150 specialists, and SuperREB runs on domestically developed software with its hardware supplied by Russian enterprises.
