U.S. President Donald Trump promised to increase the presence of US troops in Poland, Polish President Andrzej Duda stated on February 22 following their meeting, TVN24 reported.
“The most important issue for me today was discussing matters that are crucial for Poland, for my fellow citizens, and, of course, for me as the president of the Republic – namely, the security of our country,” Duda explained. “I was pleased to hear that the president (…) plans to strengthen the presence of the US military in Poland.”
Additionally, Duda revealed that Trump intends to visit Poland, though he did not specify a timeline.
“He said he will visit Poland,” the Polish president confirmed, without providing further details.
The meeting between Trump and Duda took place on Sunday in Washington. However, Trump arrived an hour late, shortening their discussion to just 10 minutes.
