For a political solution to the situation in Ukraine, the root causes of the conflict must be eliminated, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during talks with US President Donald Trump on February 12, the Kremlin website reported.
“Putin mentioned the need to eliminate the root causes of the conflict and agreed with Trump that a long-term settlement can be reached through peaceful negotiations,” presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said
