Iran’s Ministry of Defense has showcased a modernized version of the Russian S-300 air defense system, known as Bavar 373, at a defense exhibition, Tasnim wrote on February 4.
The Bavar 373 system is equipped with Sayyad 4B surface-to-air missiles, which now have an extended range of 300 kilometers. The system includes separate radars for target detection, tracking, and fire control, with a tracking range of 260 kilometers.
The complex is capable of tracking 60 targets simultaneously and engaging six at once, with each launcher operating independently.
Earlier, on February 2, Iran unveiled its new Etemad ballistic missile, which has a range of up to 1,700 kilometers. The missile was presented during a ceremony in Tehran attended by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
The Iranian president reassured that the country’s military capabilities are intended for self-defense and do not pose a threat to other nations.
