Russia and China should jointly defend the outcomes of the victory in World War II, Chinese President Xi Jinping said, the Global Times wrote on January 22.
Earlier, Xi held telephone talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
During the conversation, Xi noted that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese aggression, the Soviet Union’s Great Patriotic War and the World Anti-Fascist War, as well as the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.
Xi said that China and Russia should jointly defend the international system based on the United Nations and the results of the victory in World War II.
For his part, Vladimir Putin said Russia and China share a common determination to prevent the revival of Nazism, fascism and militarism in the world.
