Test launches of satellites of the Shahid Suleimani constellation designed to develop the Internet of Things (IoT) are scheduled for March 2025, Hassan Salarieh, head of the Iranian Space Agency (ISA), told Tasnim News Agency on January 12.
The Shahid Suleimani constellation (Martyr Suleimani – named after Gen. Qasem Suleimani, commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Al-Quds special forces, who was killed by the United States in Iraq in January 2020) will include 20 satellites that are currently under construction, Salarieh said.
“Several test launches are being conducted for the new satellites to solve any possible problems in orbit,” the ICA chief said. Test launches of the constellation are scheduled for March 2025, with main launches scheduled for March 2026.
On January 11, the head of Iran’s space industry announced plans to launch a satellite Pars-2 by February 2025.
