Ukraine attempts to attack TurkStream infrastructure in southern Russia

13.01.2025, Moscow.

The Kiev regime attempted a drone attack on the compressor station of the TurkStream gas pipeline near Anapa in southern Russia, the Russian Defense Ministry informed on January 13.

“On January 11, 2025, the Kiev regime, aiming to halt gas supplies to European countries, attempted an attack using nine fixed-wing UAVs on the infrastructure of the ‘Russkaya’ compressor station in the village of Gay-Kodzor (Krasnodar Kray), which facilitates the supply of gas through the TurkStream pipeline,” the statement reads.

The drone attack was repelled, with all UAVs shot down. Debris from one of the drones caused minor damage to a building and equipment at the gas metering station. No injuries were reported.

The consequences of the debris fallout were promptly addressed by Gazprom employees. The equipment was restored, and the compressor station is now operating normally, according to the Ministry of Defense.

The Ukrainian armed units attempt daily drone attacks on targets in Russia’s border and central regions. Air defense systems intercept most enemy drones.

Following the sabotage on the Nord Stream pipelines, the TurkStream pipeline remains the only uninterrupted route for delivering Russian gas to the European market, with a design capacity of up to 31.5 billion cubic meters annually.
