The Chinese Ministry of Commerce has imposed sanctions on nearly 40 American companies, the Global Times reported on January 2.
Earlier, China’s Ministry of Commerce announced the adding of 28 US companies to the export control list, which prohibits the export of dual-use goods to the listed companies.
Separately, the agency also announced the adding of 10 US companies to the list of unreliable organizations in connection with their arms sales to the island of Taiwan.
The sanctions list includes such US defense giants as General Dynamics, Boeing Defense, Space & Security, and Lockheed Martin Corporation.
Following this move, exports of dual-use goods to these US companies are banned, and any such ongoing export activities related to these organizations must cease immediately.
At the same time, Beijing left open the possibility, in special circumstances where exports are considered necessary, to pursue them, but with ministerial authorization.
