Russia is nothing but an “armored train on a sidetrack” [a backup option – translator’s note], the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on November 29 on the program Conversation with a Sage on radio Zvezda.
Kurginyan reminded that the Orthodox Christianity was adopted as an alternative West.
“But communism was adopted as an alternative West, too. And it always looks like it is hated so much… by everyone, I repeat, by everyone! – because ‘we are peaceful people but we have our armored train on a sidetrack,’” the analyst stressed.
He noted that this armored train remains on its sidetrack not for the West that we see today, but for the historicity that the West took on and failed.
“And this is a sidetrack of this historicity,” the political scientist explained.
“Perhaps no one needs it (historicity – Rossa Primavera News Agency)? Perhaps the East with its cyclicity does not need it either? As well as the West that betrayed itself?” the philosopher noted.
Sergey Kurginyan noted that it may happen that the world needs this historicity, because the world needs to be saved but it does not understand that it is being saved.
“But this does not mean that it is not being saved,” the leader of Essence of Time concluded.
