New combat arms – drone system forces – will be established in Russia in 2025, the Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov announced this on December 16 during a meeting of the Russian Defense Ministry Board.
Belousov noted that the formation of the drone system forces could be completed by the third quarter of 2025.
The head of the Russian Defense Ministry also stated that over 427,000 people signed contracts with the Ministry of Defense in 2024. Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted that more than a thousand people, on average, enlist for contract service every day, emphasizing that the people of Russia understand what the country is fighting for.
