Israel begins creating buffer zone in Gaza by creating its military bases

03.12.2024, Tel Aviv.

The Israeli Defense Forces are working to expand their network of military bases in Gaza to create a buffer zone, The New York Times wrote on December 3, citing satellite images and information from Israeli military sources.

The publication specifies that over the past few months, Israeli soldiers have demolished more than 600 homes in central Gaza.

It is claimed that this is being done to expand the network of military bases and thus create a buffer zone. The New York Times states that, according to satellite images, Israel has at least 19 large bases and dozens of smaller ones in the Gaza Strip.

Additionally, the Israeli military has expanded a network of outposts equipped with communication towers and defensive structures.

On November 30, the Palestinian movement Hamas claimed that Israel was using internationally prohibited types of weapons during attacks on Gaza, as reported by doctors assisting the wounded in the northern Gaza Strip.
