Kurginyan: Technocrats supporting Trump advocate replacing humans with machines

26.11.2024, Moscow.

Technocrats who supported Donald Trump in the US presidential elections openly discuss replacing humans with machines, Sergey Kurginyan, political analyst and leader of the Essence of Time movement, stated on November 15 on the Conversation with a Sage program on the Zvezda radio channel.

Kurginyan explained that Trump managed to build relationships with technocrats through his chosen running mate, Republican politician JD Vance. These technocrats are not involved in agriculture or the defense industry but “deeply engaged with cutting-edge technologies.”

The political analyst emphasized that this group includes not only engineer and billionaire Elon Musk but also “a whole cadre of people who supported Trump, particularly young entrepreneurs, young in the sense of technologies they are involved in.”

According to Kurginyan, this group of technocrats “calmly asserts that replacing humans with machines is just a stage of evolution – and that it is a good thing.”

“They explicitly state: ‘We will transfer human consciousness into machines, and it will be amazing.’ These individuals openly pose a question: ‘What will we do with the majority of humanity if labor productivity skyrockets under artificial intelligence?’” Kurginyan elaborated.

The political scientist noted that contemporary declarations by major international organizations, such as the UN and the BRICS summit in Kazan do not discuss the subject of Man at all. “Cryptocurrencies are mentioned, but there is nothing about Man,” he explained.

Kurginyan recounted memories shared by his mother, a renowned Soviet literary scholar. She described how, after the 23rd Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union under Brezhnev, a metaphor emerged that Man to man is neither “friend, comrade, and brother” nor “wolf”, but rather “Man to man is fish.” “Because the most renowned humanist, writer Mikhail Sholokhov spoke only about fish in the Don River during his congress speech, but said nothing about Man!” the political scientist explained.

“Now the problem of Man has been replaced by the notion that ‘Man to man is cryptocurrency’,” Kurginyan observed.

“But we understand that without addressing the problem of Man, nothing positive is achievable,” he emphasized.
