Kurginyan: Trump will support Israel’s deadly attempts to “waste” Iran

24.11.2024, Moscow.

The entire ultra-conservative Israeli policy implies that Iran must be “wasted. And Trump will support this, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on November 15 on the program Conversation with a Sage on radio Zvezda.

Kurginyan expressed confidence that Trump will support Israel. However, this would conflict with London’s policy, whom he wants to support, too, and, most importantly, with that of the Arab states.

The only restriction to this support is that Trump wants to play both sides; he wants to make the Arabs involved by explaining them that Iran is terrible for them. And that they must be friends with Israel against Iran. But the Arabs refuse to be friends with Israel against Iran!” Sergey Kurginyan indicates.

Meanwhile, the conflicts between Iran and Saudi Arabia, e.g. around the Houthis, are being smoothened, the political scientist explained. He believes that Iran and a number of Arab states can hold joint military exercises. This is something one could not imagine before.

Sergey Kurginyan notes that Trump cannot make a dramatic turn towards a really saving path of Israeli policy. Such a salvation for Israel could come from deep and serious talks with Iran, an interaction between the Jews and the Shia, the way it took place when shah’s Iran had friendly relations with Israel.

Trump and the entire ultra-conservative Israeli policy will seek to confront Iran, the political scientist noted. He believes that Trump will try to smoothen Israel’s policy towards the Arabs, which Israel will refuse to do.

The philosopher indicated that today we have a very specific modification of Israeli policy. When someone says “Zionism,” many people forget that there have been two kinds of Zionism.

One Zionism was socialist one, e.g. what Ben-Gurion promoted, and the other was anti-socialist. And the Netanyahu family (his father etc.) is exactly the anti-socialist Zionism, which almost appeared back in the Soviet period, when ships with weapons were heading to help this anti-socialist Zionism to rebel against Ben-Gurion. Netanyahu’s father played a major role there, but the ships were sunk, and the rebellion was disrupted,” Sergey Kurginyan explained.

According to him, at that historical moment everything that could be called anti-Ben Gurion left Israel fearing persecution. And it reemerged at a much later period, in the 21st century. “Having taken the power, it refuses to leave after it had to wait so long to take it,” the political scientist concluded.
