Paris does not rule out possibility of sending troops to Ukraine

01.10.2024, Paris.

Paris does not rule out sending troops to Ukraine, stated Benjamin Haddad, the French Minister Delegate for European Affairs, in an interview with the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung on October 1.

“President Macron said that we must not rule anything out,” Haddad remarked. He added that the French leadership’s stance remains unchanged, with French instructors currently in Ukraine to train Ukrainian militants.

Regarding the deployment of French troops to Ukraine, Haddad mentioned that this needs to be discussed with other NATO members.

Previously, Macron had stated that French troops might be sent to Ukraine if Russia breaks through the front lines and Kiev requests assistance, and that other NATO countries agree with Paris’s position.
