Russia should be ready for any development of the situation, and the Russian Armed Forces to repel possible military aggression from any direction, including the ocean and sea zones, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a teleconference at the beginning of the active phase of the Ocean-2024 strategic command and staff exercise on September 10.
The president said that it is the first time in the last three decades that Russia is holding military exercises of such a large scale. The exercises will take place in the waters of the Pacific and Arctic Oceans, the Mediterranean, Caspian and Baltic seas.
“Russia must be ready for any development of the situation, and our Armed Forces must provide reliable defense of Russia’s sovereignty and national interests, repel possible military aggression from any direction, including in the ocean and maritime zone,” Putin said.
Ships and aviation of the People’s Liberation Army of China are also involved in practicing practical actions.
“We pay special attention to strengthening military cooperation with countries friendly to us,” the President emphasized. – We see that the United States is trying to maintain its global military and political dominance at any cost. For this purpose, using Ukraine, they seek to inflict a strategic defeat on our country”.
Covering up the alleged Russian threat and deterring the People’s Republic of China, the US and its satellites are increasing their military presence near Russia’s western borders, in the Arctic and in the Asia-Pacific region.
Putin also said that the US openly announces plans to deploy intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles in “nearest areas” on islands in the Western Pacific, as well as in APR countries.
“With its aggressive actions, the US seeks to achieve a tangible military advantage, thereby breaking the established security architecture and the balance of power in the APR. In fact, the US is provoking an arms race without considering the security of its European and Asian allies. It is forming the preconditions for a dangerous, crisis situation in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region,” Putin said.
