There is a disconnect between Poland’s appetites and its real ability to play an independent game in Ukraine, said philosopher, political scientist, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on March 16 on the Right to Know program on the TVC channel.
As for Poland’s claims to Ukrainian territories and its ability to send troops to Ukraine, Poland could very well do it, said Sergey Kurginyan.
“Poland is capable of doing this, preparing for this, and most importantly – really wants this. Poland wants it terribly,” he noted.
However, according to the political scientist, Poland will not make such a decision on its own, due to the fact that it is not a politically sovereign state. Moreover, Germany will never allow Poland to have a strong position in Europe.
“Poland is not independent, and if it will send troops it will be someone else’s decision. And the Germans are very careful to ensure that Poland does not get stronger due to the fact that in the center of the European struggle for influence is the conflict between Poland and Germany. And the US is trying to rely on Poland as the main supporting element. Meanwhile, Poland can’t quite pull it off. It can enter Ukraine. It can deal with subservient Ukrainians. It will somehow manage to resolve this situation,” said Kurginyan.
In addition, he noted that Poland does not have the will to play its own game on this field, independent from other players, “it does not have enough willpower to start playing on its own, and playing big.”
“Poland always remembers about the Smuta or the Time of Troubles [the period of social crisis and unrest in Russian history between 1598 and 1613 – translator’s note] and everything else that came along with it, but there is no real big will for a long struggle among their elite. There is impudence, there is arrogance, there is Russophobia. But there is no will among Poles for a longtime struggle, unlike among the Germans,” emphasized the leader of the Essence of Time movement.
