Putin names main challenges for the new presidential term

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is leading the presidential election in Russia, said at a press conference on March 18 that solving tasks within the framework of the special military operation in Ukraine was among the main challenges for the new presidential term.

“First of all, we need to solve tasks within the framework of Russia’s special military operation, to strengthen defense capabilities, to strengthen the armed forces. This is happening at a very good pace and with excellent quality,” Putin said.

According to him, he recently outlined the main tasks of the country’s development in his address to the Federal Assembly.

“Our task is to use the trust of the citizens of the Russian Federation to do everything that depends on us so that all the set tasks are solved and the goals are achieved,” the president added.

He also thanked the citizens of Russia for the trust placed in him and promised to do everything to solve the tasks set before the country and achieve the priority goals.

The Russian presidential election was held from March 15 to 17. Four candidates took part in them: self-nominated Vladimir Putin, Nikolai Kharitonov from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Leonid Slutsky from the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, and Vladislav Davankov from the New People party.

After processing 84% of the protocols, Vladimir Putin is confidently leading in the voting.
