Does Russia want to show humanity a new path for development, or is it satisfied with the way humanity is degrading, and is it only offering to get rid of US hegemony? — asked philosopher, political scientist, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan in the author’s program Destiny published on February 20.
Along with the reigning concept of the “end of history” declared by the US philosopher Francis Fukuyama, the end of man and humanism will follow, and this is what the collective West is aiming for, says Kurginyan. What can Russia offer as an alternative, what challenges do we face in this regard? – he asks.
“Then comes the key question: is the human species one whole? Is man losing in competition with the machine? And if man loses, what will this ‘wonderful’ world look like after such a loss? Man will lose to the machine in one case: if he is a broken machine-like human being, controlled by a machine-like manager, when the human being is turned into a robot,” says the analyst.
If man is such a creature, he will lose this battle, Kurginyan is certain.
“In order to not to lose to the machine, man has to become completely different, only by finding the way to own integrity, wholeness, non-machine-likeness, to his reserve capabilities, to his other, much more effective control systems. Man is a bad machine, he will rebel before he is completely mechanized,” confirms the analyst.
The problem of man looms behind all world conflicts and it is clear that there is nothing worse here than the West, for the West “intends to destroy man and, in this sense, destroy humanism”, emphasizes the expert. And we need to honestly answer ourselves whether we are following the trend of the West or not, whether we are charmed by “this very artificial intelligence and so on, or are we looking for something else.”
“Are we able to offer humanity something strategic or will we always say that our proposal is for the US to go away and the world to be arranged without them? This, of course, is good – a nice trifle, but it is absolutely not enough, and that’s not enough for the world. How does Russia position itself in regards to greater issues? How does it respond to strategic challenges? How does it carefully change itself? And how pragmatically does it act today in the town of Avdeevka, where our troops act heroically and successfully?” Sergey Kurginyan is asking.
These complex issues cannot be broken into parts and for each part to be considered separately – one must see it as a whole, stressed the expert. “It may be difficult, but it is very necessary,” concluded the analyst.
