The Burevestnik unlimited-range cruise missile has confirmed its unique characteristics during tests that are nearing completion, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during his address to the Russian Federal Assembly on February 29.
Putin emphasized that Russia’s strategic nuclear forces are in a state of full operational readiness. The Avangard intercontinental-range hypersonic systems and Peresvet laser systems are on combat duty, the president said.
He also said that tests of the Burevestnik cruise missile and the Poseidon unmanned underwater vehicle were nearing completion.
“These systems have confirmed their high, one can say without exaggeration – unique characteristics,” Putin emphasized.
