Russian Defense Ministry: Kiev is preparing to launch chemical warfare

20.02.2024, Moscow.

Russia reveals that the Kiev regime is preparing to launch a chemical war, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, Commander of the Chief of Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection Troops of the Russian Armed Forces, said at an official briefing, the Russian Defense Ministry’s Telegram channel informed on February 19.

It is reported that the Kiev regime and its Western curators are developing a tactic of combat operations that involves contaminating the terrain with hazardous chemicals by detonating chemical tanks installed in areas where Russian troops might attack. The Kiev regime is planning to place chemical containers on the routes of traffic. In this way, they are trying to create a “chemical belt” and create an operational pause that would allow the Ukrainian armed units to gain a foothold on new borders during the retreat.

The Ukrainian armed units are stockpiling personal chemical protection equipment to prevent exposure to toxic substances.

The excessive nature of this accumulation is emphasized if Ukraine does not have chemical weapons. The volume of deliveries of protective complexes in 2023 and 2024 is very large. More than 55 thousand sets of personal protective equipment have already been delivered, it is planned to deliver another 283 thousand items in 2024. Other equipment used in chemical warfare has also been requested.

The engagement of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), which has turned into an organization fully controlled by the United States, has been noted. The OPCW ignored the materials provided by Russia on Ukraine’s violation of the international treaties governing the handling of chemical weapons.
