Who needs international law in contemporary world? Opinion

31.01.2024, Moscow.

No one but Russia and the Global South, which has joined it, wants to preserve international law, according to the report from the theater of war, published in The Essence of Time newspaper, Issue 570.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the suffering of Jews during the Holocaust does not mean that Israel has its hands free today. He noted that the peoples of the USSR suffered no less, and according to this logic, Russia should be allowed to do anything now.

Lavrov emphasized that such a position is wrong in principle, especially if we want to preserve international law.

“And who wants to preserve international law except Russia and the Global South that has joined it? And what is international law in a multipolar world anyway?” The Essence of Time reads.
