Russian President Vladimir Putin talked about a breakthrough by Russian soldiers near Avdeevka, emphasizing that “the men are fighting well and truly.” The president said this at a meeting with his campaign confidants at his election headquarters in Moscow’s Gostiny Dvor on January 31.
Putin described Avdeevka as the most important area where the fighting is currently taking place.
He said that a group of veterans ahead of the Russian troops broke through the enemy defenses and reached the outskirts of Avdeevka. This group has captured 19 houses and is successfully holding them.
“The men there fight well and truly, fight properly,” the president said, adding that such men should be in charge of educating the younger generation.
