Deliveries of armored vehicles to Russian troops triple

Russian President Vladimir Putin noted a threefold increase in the supply of armored vehicles to the Russian troops compared to last year at an extended meeting of the Defense Ministry board, the press service of the ministry wrote on December 19.

“This year, thanks to the work of the defense industry, the supplies of armored vehicles has increased threefold, military and utility vehicles – 4.5 times,” the president said.

Purchases of major weapons increased by 2.7 times, and the number of especially demanded ones – by 7 times, Vladimir Putin added.

According to the leader of the state, the state defense order will be fulfilled by 98% this year. The president also called for a constant analysis of the needs of the Russian military at the front.

The President noted that despite the growth in armored and automotive equipment deliveries, the Russian army still needs modern models.

During the meeting, the leader of the state, also praised the work of Russian air defense systems Pantsir, Buk, S-300 and S-400. According to the president, the “world’s best” systems work without fail.

Vladimir Putin also called for attention to be paid to the fight against small unmanned drones.

“But what we ignored before, we thought that it was some trifle, some plywood, some small drones that fly – no, it turned out that it also causes damage. And it should not be ignored in any case,” Putin commented.

The President noted that the West was not abandoning either its strategy to contain Russia or its aggressive goals in Ukraine.

“Well, and we are not going to abandon our goals in the special military operation,” Putin said.
