American journalist Seymour Hersh’s statement about secret peace talks between Russia and Ukraine looks like a false report aimed at testing the reactions of Zelensky and Zaluzhny, according to the report from the theater of war, published in The Essence of Time newspaper, issue 563.
Hersh said that Russia and Ukraine were holding secret peace talks. According to him, these negotiations are being conducted through the chief of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff Valeriy Gerasimov and the Ukrainian commander-in-chief Valeriy Zaluzhny.
The journalist claims that he received information about this from US officials, whom he did not name. He also noted that Zelensky was made to understand that the conflict would be resolved by the military, not him, and the negotiations would continue with or without him.
“Hersh’s statement looks more like a false report to check the reaction of Zaluzhny and the Ukrainian president’s office,” The Essence of Time editorial reads.
