FSB uncovers network of Ukrainian saboteurs in Crimea

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), together with the Investigative Committee, uncovered the activities of an extensive network of Ukrainian saboteurs, the FSB press service informed on December 11.

Agents of the underground network planned terrorist acts against representatives of state authorities, energy, and transport infrastructure, as well as against servicemen of the Russian Federation.

The targets of the agents were the head of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov, the chairman of the State Council of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov, the mayor of Yalta Yanina Pavlenko, blogger Alexander Talipov and public figure Oleg Tsarev.

Supervised the activities of agents of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense and the SBU of Ukraine.

Russian security services prevented six sabotage attacks on railroads, two bombings of gas distribution equipment, three bombings of power plants, and three car bombings. A total of 14 terrorist acts and sabotage attacks were foiled.

The FSB officers revealed 15 caches with 37 improvised explosive devices and more than 200 kilograms of explosives. 18 agents were detained, 10 persons were convicted.

More than 30 criminal cases against terrorists are currently under investigation.
